This restaurant gained its publicity from Astro AEC through the show, “Taste with Jason” (The host better known as “Ah Xian”) and ever since then something has happened. Apparently, you can’t get a place or to try their famous dish without calling in advance to book. This time round I decided to give it a try and also to pack a 2 days “makan” trip to Ipoh and Taiping. Opened from 5pm onwards, we reached there at 4.45pm and were their first customer of the day. That actually eliminated a lot of waiting time.

Everything starts at 5pm. So it was pretty much empty when we arrived.

This is the one and only cook who did all the magic. He has like 8 helpers in the kitchen just to help him to do the preparation.

This is it. The signature dish, claypot crab rice. So delicious and the crabs are really fresh.

Another recommended dish, the “La La” they really made sure that there is no empty shell on the plate. Bravo!

For some reason, I find that most of Ipoh fishballs are very soft and nice. This is one thing that Reuben likes throughout the trip.

The herbal chicken was alright nothing to shout about.
They also have other dish like fish head, prawns, etc. Maybe next time. How to get there from north south highway, I’ve included the map below. All you need to do is to exit at Tambun, Ipoh exit and look for Tesco Extra (Macro previously) then you’re on the right track. Just make sure you call one day earlier before you go there.
